RACE1 commenced manufacture of hand built timber, racing shells in 1975.
In 1989 the last timber boat was built making way for a complete transition to composite construction.
From the early 90's work continued to towards development of the “optimum boat’.
Construction of our Olympic class boats is in 100% Carbon fibre.
RACE1 was successful in securing the contract to design and build the official catamarans; used at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, creating minimal wash they provide a stable platform for coaching and filming of crews in action. The catamarans are now being exported worldwide.
