 RACE1 is an Australian based
company, designing, building and exporting high quality racing
shells around the world from our factory in Sydney.
RACE1 Australia commenced manufacture of hand built timber,
racing shells in 1975, utilizing traditional methods and materials.
In 1976, the transition to fiberglass boats was made and in 1978,
the company pioneered the manufacture of male-moulded composite
racing shells.
In 1984, export of racing shells from Australia commenced with
orders from UK, Europe and the USA. From the early 90's work
continued to towards development of the "optimum boat".
This quest has seen the ongoing trialling of various combinations
of materials, construction methods and innovative research and
development.
As a prestigous testimony to the company's expertise,
Race1 was successful in securing the contract to design and build
the official catamarans, used at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
These boats are designed to create minimal wash and provide a
stable platform for race umpiring, coaching and filming of crews
in action. The catamarans are now being exported world wide.
Race1 is fast gaining recognition for innovative design and
manufacture of high quality racing shells for elite athletes,
clubs, school and college rowers. While specialising in design,
development and construction of sculls, doubles and quad sculls,
Race1 has a range of moulds to manufacture all classes of boats.
